Treat the breeze as part of the round. Check the wind again before an exposed approach, and stay flexible with club selection instead of relying on distance alone. A coastal golf day also works well with time at leisure afterwards; coordinate your pickup so there is room to enjoy both.
Aquella Golf Resort and Country Club sits on Thai Muang Beach in Phang Nga province, roughly 45 minutes north of Phuket International Airport — technically off-island, but close enough that it's routinely included in Phuket golf itineraries. The site has a golf history stretching back decades: the original Thai Muang Golf Club was laid out by Andy Dye in the 1990s, before the entire course was reconstructed from 2018 onward by Pacific Coast Design, the Australian firm behind Hua Hin's respected Black Mountain Golf Club.
The rebuilt course opened in August 2021 as part of a larger 177-hectare beachfront development that includes hotels, residential villas, and a marina, backed by Hong Kong's Pacific Century Premium Developments and Lan Kwai Fong Group. While the new routing follows some of the original holes, most of the course is entirely reimagined, with a deep sand base added throughout for strong drainage even after heavy rain.
The signature hole is the 186-yard par-3 11th, played with sweeping Andaman Sea views along the beachfront — the clearest example of what sets Aquella apart from Phuket's other courses: for the length of the drive, this is genuine coastal golf, not a course that simply markets itself as being near the sea.

Tell us your preferred tee time, handicap range and any rental requirements. For a larger group, we can discuss consecutive tee times rather than assuming everyone can play in one flight.

Your hotel location matters as much as the destination name. Share the exact pickup point so we can allow for city traffic and the time needed to warm up before your round.
