Your caddie helps you navigate the course and understand the day's playing conditions. Listen to local advice on lines, distances and pace, while taking responsibility for every shot. Cart and group-size rules vary by course. Confirm individual versus shared carts, and budget a separate tip unless it is explicitly included.

Golf etiquette for visiting players

Arrive with time to check in and warm up. Follow the club's dress code, keep a safe distance from the group ahead and wait until it is safe to hit. Repair pitch marks, follow the caddie's guidance around greens and keep your group moving. Respect course staff and other players throughout the day.

What to pack for a golf trip

Bring course-appropriate clothing, golf shoes, a hat, a spare glove, sun protection and rain cover for your bag. Check your airline's golf-bag allowance before travelling.
