A course with several nines offers different combinations, so ask which routing is included in your quotation. The published yardage can refer to a particular pair of nines or tee selection. Confirm the planned 18 holes when booking, especially if you are returning and want to experience another combination.
Springfield Royal Country Club opened in 1993 as an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Design — one of a genuinely small number of true Nicklaus-designed courses in Thailand — and added a third nine, Course C, in 2005, designed by Lee Schmidt of Schmidt-Curley Golf Design. Together the three nines (A, B, and C) combine into an 18-hole championship routing measuring 7,043 yards from the back tees, with five sets of tees offering a wide range of playability.
Set in Sampraya, Cha-Am, in the countryside between Hua Hin and Cha-Am, the course is built around a genuinely demanding design — approximately 130 bunkers and extensive water hazards run throughout the property, alongside mature trees and a stated resident population of more than 100 bird species. The course has hosted the Final Stage of Asian Tour Qualifying School, confirming it holds up to serious competitive scrutiny, and it’s been described by the club as ranking among Thailand’s top-10 courses [VERIFY: confirm the specific ranking and source with P Aor before publishing].
The signature closing hole, a par-5 18th finishing at an island green, sums up the character of the whole course: strategic, water-guarded, and demanding right to the final putt.
