The playing experience
If you are interested in an early or evening round, ask for the exact available session and its quotation. Lighting arrangements, the last starting time and transport hours need to work together. Day and evening schedules can have different conditions, so the final confirmation should name the round you intend to play.
Floraville Golf & Country Club opened in 1998 under its original name, Chuan Cheun, and remains one of only a handful of courses in Thailand designed by Nick Faldo. It sits inside a large housing estate in Pathum Thani, north of Bangkok, where mature trees, open marsh, and genuine wildlife give the round a quieter, more natural feel than most courses this close to the city.
The layout is flat, but Faldo's design finds its challenge elsewhere: small, hard, fast greens that punish anything but a well-struck approach, framed by trees or water on most holes and demanding accurate tee shots to set up a good angle in. The par-3 6th is the toughest of these tests, playing 173 yards over water to a green guarded by deep bunkers, while the closing par-5 18th asks for two precise shots around fairway bunkers before a water-fronted green makes the case for playing safe rather than going for glory.
The clubhouse was rebuilt and reopened in 2018, and its Thai restaurant has built a genuine reputation of its own, serving everything from golfer snacks to royal Thai cuisine. Floraville is consistently rated among Bangkok's best-value rounds — real design quality without the premium price tag of the city's championship venues.
