If you are interested in an early or evening round, ask for the exact available session and its quotation. Lighting arrangements, the last starting time and transport hours need to work together. Day and evening schedules can have different conditions, so the final confirmation should name the round you intend to play.
Summit Green Valley Chiang Mai Country Club opened in 1990, the second course developed by the Summit Group after Summit Windmill in Bangkok, designed by American architect Dennis Griffiths — the same name behind Thai Country Club, one of Bangkok’s most respected championship venues. That pedigree shows in the routing: at 7,202 yards from the championship tees with a course rating of 74.5 and a slope of 142, this is a genuine test, not a resort-easy round.
Set in Mae Sa subdistrict, Mae Rim, about 20 minutes from central Chiang Mai, the course is lined with palm trees and shaped around water hazards affecting nearly every hole, with real elevation change running through the mountain-valley setting typical of Northern Thailand. The signature hole is the par-4 9th, a 416-yard test that demands a tee shot carrying water to a bunker-flanked fairway, followed by an approach to an elevated island green ringed by palm trees.
While no specific tournament history is documented, the Dennis Griffiths design credential alone places Summit Green Valley in serious company among Thailand’s championship courses.
