Make room in the day for the drive and a proper warm-up. Changes in elevation can alter how far a shot actually plays, so use the caddie's local knowledge alongside your own distance judgement. For a multi-course holiday, this setting adds a different visual and playing rhythm to flatter layouts.
Gassan Khuntan Golf & Resort opened in 2004 with an original 18 holes, and expanded to a full 27 holes in 2018 — making it the largest of the three Gassan Trail courses and the natural finishing point for a multi-day visit to the group. Set in Mae Tha District, Lamphun, near Doi Khuntan National Park, the course takes its name from the mountain that dominates the surrounding landscape.
The setting carries real history: the area is home to the historic Khuntan railway bridge and tunnel, a century-old piece of Thai railway engineering, adding a cultural landmark within reach of the course that few other golf destinations in the region can match. On the course itself, the standout is hole 5 — a 163-yard par-3 played to an island green, one of the most photographed holes among the Gassan properties.
The course’s biggest credential arrived in 2015, when it was voted Thailand’s best golf course in a poll of Chinese golfers — a meaningful distinction given how much of the Gassan group’s original marketing and guest base has been built around Chinese golf tourism. Combined with the scenic Doi Khuntan backdrop and the expanded 27-hole routing, Khuntan is a fitting, memorable finale after Legacy and Panorama.

Tell us your preferred tee time, handicap range and any rental requirements. For a larger group, we can discuss consecutive tee times rather than assuming everyone can play in one flight.
Getting there
Your hotel location matters as much as the destination name. Share the exact pickup point so we can allow for city traffic and the time needed to warm up before your round.
